Keeping Yavanika Going - An Important Update
October 01, 2026
Hi everyone,
We have some big news to share - Yavanika is going paid before the end of this year.
We know. That’s a pretty big change. And we’re sure you probably have a lot of questions (and maybe a few concerns). Before we get into the why, though, we thought we’d take a step back and properly introduce ourselves.
There are two people behind Yavanika.
Jithu - the computer guy and the person behind the product.
Vimal - the face of Yavanika. Some of you have probably already interacted with him.
When we started Yavanika, we built it as a simple tool for our close friends to write their stories. Slowly, it went beyond our friend circle. We started getting a ton of feedback - both good and bad - and found ourselves spending more and more time working on Yavanika, perhaps even more than our day jobs.
Fast forward four years: thousands of users (yes, thousands - we're as surprised as you are), countless conversations, and a whole lot of updates later, we've reached a point where we need your help to keep moving forward.
Which brings us back to the paid transition.
Yavanika is currently free for our community to use, but running and growing it now costs more than we can sustainably afford. We've grown far beyond what we originally intended or imagined, and we want to keep it that way.
So, we have set the monthly and yearly subscription at:
₹169/month
₹1,690/year
Yes, we know it's a big change.
But we believe it's a necessary one if we want to keep Yavanika running, keep improving it, and build everything we have planned for the future.
What's next?
Before we announce the final date, we'll be sharing more details about the transition, what your subscription will support, and what we're planning for Yavanika.
Keep an eye on our Product Updates page for everything we're building and the updates we'll be sharing along the way.
And please - tell us what you think. We'd genuinely like to hear your questions, concerns, and feedback before we make the transition.
- Team Yavanika
