Major Updates

A lot has changed in Yavanika recently.

Most of the work has happened behind the scenes, but there are a few things you'll notice when you use the new version.

A new Yavanika

We've redesigned the dashboard, Hub, navigation, and other parts of the app.

This isn't just a visual change. We've been trying to make the everyday experience of using Yavanika a little clearer and less frustrating.

A lot of the changes came from things you've told us over the years, sometimes directly and sometimes through the problems we saw people running into.

Notes

Not everything starts as a screenplay.

Sometimes it's a scene idea, a conversation, a character name, or just something you don't want to forget.

We've added a Notes editor for those things. It's a simple place to scribble, collect ideas, and work things out before, or instead of, turning them into a screenplay.

DOCX export

You can now export your scripts as DOCX files.

This feature is still in beta. We've put it out there because we want to see how it works with real scripts and real workflows, not just our own test files.

If you use DOCX export and something doesn't look right, or if there's something you think we should change, please let us know. Your feedback will help us improve it.

PDF export is still available too.

Find & Replace

You can now find and replace text in the editor.

It's a small feature, but one that becomes useful very quickly, especially when you're making changes across a longer script.

A lot of smaller things

There are also plenty of changes that don't really deserve their own announcement.

We've fixed bugs, improved the editor, cleaned up some rough edges, and worked on making Yavanika more reliable.

We'll keep adding those smaller improvements as we go.

And, as always, if something isn't working the way you think it should, tell us.

Where we’re headed

We've got a lot more planned.

We've put together a roadmap where you can see some of the features and improvements we're working towards.

It's a living document, so things may change as we go. As always, your feedback helps shape what comes next.
